In the midst of my preparations for the opening of the “Connexum” Kappa Pi exhibition at the Mueller Gallery, I was contacted by multimedia artist Sarah Canfield—with whom I worked previously on her show at the gallery, and with whom I have remained in touch—with the amazing opportunity to write what would become a series of five wall texts to accompany the work in her solo exhibition, “The Circuit Unseen”, at the BrassWorks Gallery in Montclair, New Jersey! I am immensely thankful for this fantastic experience, and I especially appreciated that she took the time to participate in an interview before I began drafting my paragraphs. With the openings of “Connexum” and her show falling on back-to-back days, I was well aware that I would need to hustle to complete both tasks before me, but I could not be more grateful to have taken this on. I am quite honored to have my texts currently on view alongside Sarah’s dynamic, captivating, and varied work, which encompasses a career retrospective. 🖼️🤝🏻📝

Sarah Canfield’s “The Circuit Unseen” will be on view through Friday, April 25. She will be participating in an artist talk on Thursday, March 27 at 6:30 pm. The gallery is open Monday to Friday, 7 am—7 pm.
