I am very excited to announce that my new solo exhibition, “Urgent”, is now installed at the Bridgewater Library in my hometown of Bridgewater, New Jersey! This is my seventh solo exhibition at this venue, and my eighteenth solo exhibition overall. The show features several works of image transfer, paper collage, and other mixed media that I created for my studio courses during my final semester at Caldwell University this past fall.
As a mixed media artist, I enjoy working with a variety of materials, as well as combinations of them, through which I seek to transcend boundaries of creativity, dimension, and communication. Every one of my pieces becomes a unique experience, each with exciting ideas, risks, and discoveries. Many of my recent works were produced in response to the current situation of division, unrest, and conflict faced by my emerging generation, in response to which I have been compelled to draw attention to important, universal topics and issues concerning humanity. I believe that art, whether evoking a sense of comfort and peace or feelings of unease and confrontation, is a way into the soul and a vehicle through which one can ignite a spark of personal transformation that empowers each of us to connect with others on a common level.
I would like to sincerely thank the Bridgewater Library for once again providing me with the wonderful opportunity to share my art. Libraries have always been, and continue to be, sources of inspiration and learning, and I am delighted to be able to give back to such important cornerstones of our community. I extend my immense gratitude to Audrey Blumberg of the Bridgewater-Raritan BReeze for publishing a short article on the exhibition in the paper!
“Urgent” will be on view through Thursday, May 29. If you ever happen to be in the area and have a few minutes, please feel free to visit! 🖼️🙏🏻
