I am pleasantly surprised to have been offered the opportunity for an early installation of my solo exhibition, “Urgent”, at the Manville Public Library in Manville, New Jersey! This is my third solo exhibition at this venue, and my twenty-fifth overall. “Urgent”—which spans both sides the library’s community room—features several works of image transfer, paper collage, and other mixed media.
This body of work was produced in response to the current situation of division, unrest and conflict facing my emerging generation, in response to which I have been compelled to address important, universal themes of humanity and connection. As a mixed media artist, I work with a wide range of materials to transcend boundaries of creativity, dimension, and communication. Each of my pieces is developed as a unique experience shaped by exploration, risk-taking, and discovery. I believe that art can be both comforting and challenging, presenting a way into the soul and a catalyst for personal transformation and shared understanding.
I would like to sincerely thank the Manville Public Library for once again providing me with the wonderful opportunity to share my art. Libraries have always been, and continue to be, sources of inspiration and learning, and I am delighted to be able to give back to such important cornerstones of our community. I am particularly grateful to Crystal Hooper, Branch Manager, for her continued support and encouragement, most recently her display of my exhibition flyer in the lobby and her video publicizing my show to uploaded onto social media.
“Urgent” will be on view through Thursday, April 23. If you ever happen to be in the area and have a few minutes, please feel free to visit! 🖼️👐🏻
