With immense gratitude, I am elated to announce that “The Pursuit of Happiness”, a group exhibition at Nails in the Wall Gallery at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Metuchen, New Jersey, for which one of my works was accepted, is now open! Among the pieces featured is my work of multimedia and mixed media, “Luminescence of Being”, which was created specially for what is my fourth consecutive show at this gallery.
I was deeply excited to have attended the opening reception on Saturday, February 21, during which I truly enjoyed catching up with gallery personnel and my fellow returning artists, becoming acquainted with new exhibiting artists, and contributing to a consistently diverse and eclectic collection of pieces from 40 total accepted artists!
As always, I am sincerely thankful to Deb Kmetz, Mark Harris, and the rest of the gallery committee for our continued rapport and for considering my work for yet another excellent group exhibition at the gallery! I could not be more thrilled to once again share my art with the local community! 🖼️🤗🙏🏻
The theme for this show was inspired by the impending 250th anniversary of the United States and its Declaration of Independence. The exhibition prospectus states that the pursuit of happiness is an unalienable right that has always been challenged by circumstance. Artists were prompted to address any of a variety of inquiries, based upon which the body of work was selected and curated: What overarching challenges to this pursuit have we observed in our country and/or the world? What does it mean to pursue? Why is happiness different for different people? What happiness have we seen?
“The Pursuit of Happiness” will be on view from Saturday, February 21—Sunday, May 17.
