I am very pleased to have installed my solo exhibition, “Be Still”, at the Chester Library in Chester, New Jersey for the month of May! This is my first solo show at this venue, and my twenty-sixth overall. “Be Still” explores ideas of seeking stillness amid the continuous activity of our daily lives. The body of work encompassed by this exhibition has taken on various iterations over the past few years. This one at the Chester Library comprises two sections, one with painting pieces and the other with photography work.
To be still is to be open to our senses, allowing ourselves to be released from the busyness of our daily lives. There are so many beautiful and amazing wonders of nature that we often tend to overlook. By taking a moment to be still in body, mind and spirit, becoming attuned to both ourselves and our surroundings, we can find our own inner peace as we observe and appreciate the world around us. I hope that you experience moments in your day when you can find stillness in your own life.
This show represents only a small sampling of my larger mixed media portfolio. Please feel free to check out more of my work on my site.
I previously curated a series of watercolor paintings and colored pastel drawings by Isabella Neufeld, a late family friend, at the Chester Library in April 2025. I would like to sincerely thank the library for additionally providing me with the wonderful opportunity to share my own art. Libraries have always been, and continue to be, sources of inspiration and learning, and I am delighted to be able to give back to such important cornerstones of our community.
“Be Still” will be on view through Thursday, May 28. If you ever happen to be in the area and have a few minutes, please feel free to visit! 🖼️🙏🏻
